Dr Vincent presented a paper on "Automated As-built 3D Reconstruction Using Quadruped Robot and 3D LiDAR Sensor" at the 41st International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC) in Lille, France. This study details a method for creating 3D models automatically using a quadruped robot and a 3D LiDAR sensor. The method combines the LiDAR Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm with robot control to produce detailed 3D/2D maps and gather complete point cloud data.
