Timeline

The PhD programme offers two intakes annually, in August and January. Applications are usually due by 1 January for the August intake and 1 July for the January intake of the subsequent year.

Postdoc and Research Assistant

Positions Available (Feb 2025)

We are currently seeking candidates for Postdoc and research assistant. Ideal candidates should have relevant background and knowledge in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.

Postdoc

  1. Proficiency with laser scanning, LiDAR, computer vision, and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), including open-source frameworks and algorithms for 3D scene reconstruction.

  2. Skilled in 2D mapping, ground robot navigation, and control. Knowledge in scan planning optimisation will be beneficial.

  3. Strong ability in Python programming and familiarity with the LINUX platform. Experience in machine learning and deep learning will be beneficial.

  4. At least one year of experience in SLAM development and Python programming would be preferred.

  5. The appointed candidates will support the planning and execution of research projects including conducting research, analysing results, preparing reports and papers.

Research Assistant

  1. Proficiency with 3D BIM reconstruction, 3D modelling software (Autodesk Revit, Dynamo), including open-source frameworks and algorithms for structural and M&E BIM reconstruction.

  2. Experience in Python programming, machine learning, deep learning, and data analytics will be beneficial.

  3. At least one year of experience in Dynamo programming would be preferred. Willing to learn and responsible.

  4. The appointed candidates will support the planning and execution of research projects including conducting research, analysing results, preparing reports and papers
